A Greeting From Our Pastor
Friends, What a joy it is for Leanne and me to share with you the new opportunity our Lord has entrusted us in planting a new church on the Westside in Jacksonville; we know without a doubt this is a continuation of our forty five years of service to Him and a fulfillment of His plan for our lives. So if you are considering a new church experience and place of worship, we cordially invite you to visit us at the First Baptist Church West Jacksonville. We are currently meeting at our temporary location in the auditorium of the Thomas Jefferson Elementary School located at 8233 Nevada Street, just north of Beaver Street between Cahoon Road N. and Bulls Bay Highway; more than ample parking is available at close proximity to the auditorium. For the time being, our worship service is on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM; our plan is to offer a mid-week opportunity in the near future. The theme for our church is "A Training Ground For Christian Living" and our plan is to fulfill that motto in teaching God's Word to all ages in ways that leads to perpetual spiritual growth. Our foundational Scripture verse from the Lord in II Chronicles 7:14 is "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sin, and will heal their land." It's my desire that this promise from our Heavenly Father will be the basis for a daily call of commitment from me and our congregation. So if you're interested in sound Bible teaching and great evangelistic gospel music, join us in our first Sunday service at 10:00 AM, November 15, 2009.
